I’ve never wanted to be in Detroit so bad. When I was at 4C’s, everyone was telling me I should go to Computers and Writing, but really, it’s timing is bad. We’re in the middle of week seven (out of ten) here, I’ve got way too much homework, and my thesis looms over my head like Midwestern thunderclouds (which I desperately miss). Alas, maybe next year.
On the bright side, I had a prospectus meeting yesterday that went really well, and now I’m even more overloaded with sources to check out for the thesis. Fantastic! Note to self, though: don’t schedule a meeting in Moreland 338 in mid-May and bring in a hot cup of coffee. I swear I was sweating so heavily that I lost half my body’s hydration.
Kathleen Blake Yancey was here on Tuesday and Wednesday and gave a marvelous talk about transfer. It was so great to have her on campus. I think all the folk who attended her talk Wednesday were in awe (I certainly was!). I’d write more about it, but really, I’ve got to get to reading some thesis-related stuff.
Yeah, I’m not at C&W this year either, and I wish I was. I’ve been to the last two and throughly enjoyed myself.
Michael,
I have been looking for you a couple of times, thinking you MUST be here in Detroit, but now I remember (and have been reminded), that you were not able to attend.
Nice revision on the site–I haven’t visited in a while, just using Bloglines to keep up.
Kevin
I like those notes to self about thesis reading and writing!
