A few weeks ago, I got my new drone, a Parrot AR. Drone 2.0 Elite Edition:
I finally took it on a few test flights last Friday, so I’m going to share some of those videos here. I’ve only so far flown in “training mode,” but it’s been kind of fun exploring how this baby works.
Flight 1, with a bumpy ending of me struggling to get the drone away from the wall (note: music on the videos is just some quickly chosen music available through YouTube). I wound up just finally crashing it as it fell down the wall:
Flight 2, a bit smoother flying (thought not that exciting to watch):
My first flight outside:
My second flight outside:
The following day, I took it out to Buffalo Springs Lake to try to fly it somewhere “natural”-ish, but there was a slight breeze, and as soon as I took off, it veered off in the breeze. Luckily, I hit the “land” button before it flew into the lake.
Yesterday, Rachel stopped by the office, so I showed her the new drone:
And she took this Instagram video:
I’m not fully certain where having this is going to go, but it’s been fun to play with so far.
