Inspired in part by Johndan Johnson-Eilola‘s Datacloud, I started chronicling my workspaces throughout the day on Twitter on Monday morning. After three days, I’ve chronicled a number of places I work, whether it’s reading for comprehensive exams, preparing for class, working in the composition office, or grading papers. Clicking on an image will take you to the Twitpic page to see a larger version.
1. Monday morning: reading Literacy: A Critical Sourcebook at Saints Cafe
2. Monday afternoon: working in the Composition Office
3. Monday early evening: reading more at Webster’s cafe, and having dinner
4. Monday evening: working on the standard English 15 syllabus for next year at Starbucks
5. Late Monday night: buying books on Amazon.com at home
6. Tuesday morning: Preparing to teach class while at Saints Cafe
7. Later Tuesday morning: working in the Composition Office, struggling with Kaltura, an online video editing software
8. Tuesday evening: Reading Beyond Sexuality at Starbucks
9. Later Tuesday evening: Reading more of Beyond Sexuality at a different Starbucks
10. Wednesday morning: Responding to email and reading more at Saints Cafe

12. Wednesday afternoon: Grading papers at Starbucks
13. More grading papers at Starbucks
14. Late Wednesday night: A trip to Denny’s with the roommates, where I graded more papers
15. Writing this blog post in bed
I’ve been enjoying these tweets, Michael. Text on the left (typically), food, drink, pen on the right!
Thanks, Travis!
The pen location is purely coincidence, since I have to set it down to take a picture. And the iPhone would be the pictures, but it’s what I’m using to take the pictures, haha.
I reLy like this idea. This would be a great use of DAYTUM for simple data tracking and visulation. I would love to see this over the course of a month. Would be really interesting.
Thanks, Cole. I’m still taking these pictures, but not as frequently. π
