Headed to Penn State

I’ve let the graduate programs that I was accepted into know, and now I’m announcing it here: I’m headed to Penn State in the fall to work on a PhD in English, focusing in rhetoric and writing. I’m excited!! πŸ™‚

It was a tough decision among four great programs that I have a lot of admiration for Ò€” a decision that stressed me out at times quite a bit. But I’m super happy to be heading to Happy Valley.

I sit here amazingly jealous. I wish I was chasing a PhD in something which I could imagine had value – English, History, Philosophy. Perhaps I should escape this social “science” nonsense and pursue…

well… maybe or maybe not. At this point I’d take escape.

Anyway, congratulations. Penn State has great people.

Sweet! As others have said, what a great program they have at PSU. History and theory are both such dynamic parts of their curriculum and mission. Good choice.
