Save Faris

My foot is healing pretty well (I sprained it a few weeks ago and then found out I had a broken bone and need to wear a boot). I’ve already gone out for quick trips this weekend without my boot on; the swelling is down, the bruising still appears to be the same as it was a week ago; the pain is completely bearable and my left foot can even hold all my weight (yay for not having to sit down to put on pants!).

I think I’ll keep wearing the boot for a few more days and still take it easy, and, of course, I’ve been using a cane, which I think has helped keep weight off my foot tremendously. And also gotten me some grief:

Yesterday I walked into Interzone, and a friend of mine said, “Hey! I almost called you today because I want a Save Ferris sticker!” (This is what I heard, actually.)

I was totally baffled. Why would someone come to me for a Save Ferris sticker? I know I’m a total ska nerd, but still? I replied, “Uh, Save Ferris broke up years ago.”

“Oh! You haven’t seen them!” she exclaimed. It turns out that someone created a “Save Faris” sticker with a cane on it and posted them around town and campus. I have yet to figure out who has done this.

Some documentation of one on Monroe Street:

    How is this NOT Stoller?

Oh – it’s not scathing or sarcastic enough.

Great idea, though. I wish I’d had it.

wow, i’ve got to get my hands on one of those stickers.

more importantly, adam needs one, as he was the guy who “broke michael’s leg.” i remind him all the time.

Oh, poor Adam. Thanks for keeping on him! πŸ™‚

Keep your boot on as long as the doctor said! Remember the rainy night you could barely make it from Moreland to Waldo? If I see you bootless tomorrow, I’m putting a p.s. on your recommendation letter: “Does not follow doctor’s orders.”

  8. Michael says:

Thanks, Vicki. The doctor said about two weeks for the boot, but it does look like it’s going to take longer. I was hoping to not need it by the end of the week, but I think I’ll need it until sometime next week.
