What’s on my mind: my sprained ankle. I was playing basketball at the rec center with some of the graduate students in our department and landed on my foot wrong trying to grab a rebound. This is going to hurt my productivity, especially since a three-minute walk to my car probably took me ten minutes tonight. This week might be rougher than I thought it was going to be.
Hopefully tomorrow it feels better, but if it doesn’t, I may have to visit the doctor, something I am normally pretty hesitant to do. I’m reclining with ice on my foot, and I downed some advil and vitamins, so hopefully something among those helps.
Cartesian split: More worried about this distracting me from work than from my actual health. Also bummed that this will probably prevent me from going to the gym tomorrow.
Sprained ankles can be very painful. You may need advice on how best to mobilise it again once the swelling goes down. Accidents happen – sometimes they are a sign that you need to take a step back and prioritise stuff. Hope it getsd better quickly – but I think that tomorrow is a bit optimistic. π
