I’m getting overloaded with questions from students via email. This is a bit frustrating, but really I love it. It shows that students are working on and caring about their coursework (at least some).
But what is even more frustrating is that a student emailed me an assignment and I wanted to email him back. He emailed me from a Comcast account. I replied and got a bounceback message from his Hotmail account, meaning he’s having his Comcast email forwarded to his Hotmail account, but his Hotmail account has expired. So, I tried emailing his OSU account, but then again, I get the same bounceback from the same nonexistent Hotmail account. He has both his Comcast and his OSU email forwarded to an account that does not exist!!!! I guess I have to assume that he’ll get the emails in his Comcast and his OSU inboxes anyway, but I’ll have to talk to him about it in class.
On another note, I’m super excited when students correct my punctuation and spelling errors in assignments. I’m offering extra credit when they find any mistakes I make in assignment handouts or slides I show in class, and they are always excited to point out my mistakes. I love it!
I’m also a fan of pointing out your mistakes…such as, the bike seat setting of 10 π
I was curious whether you tell your students about your blog, or would you rather they not see it?
It’s at the bottom of my email signature, so I imagine a curious student might click on it to read it, but as far as I know, none of them have.
How strange. If I knew if any of my instructors had a blog I would read it all the time.
I couldn’t figure out how to insert mine as a link in my email signature.
