notes from the interblags, Sept. 8 edition, vol. 2

I’m back. More notes:

  • Boing Boing links to a How to Write a Perfect Email. Stephen Krause offers his How to Send Krause Email. I think I might consider a “How to Email Faris” handout for my students, since I start teaching again in two weeks. I remember teaching first-year composition and getting emails with swear words, no signature (who is this from?, esp. in regards to non-institutional emails), no subjects, swear words in the subject line, etc. I really have very little problem with colloquialisms, but really, “shit” as a subject line isn’t very effective.
  • An interesting discussion on RSS readers and ways of reading feeds on Will Richardson’s blog.

edit: Blogging Pedagogy has a post on email etiquette from students (or lack thereof).
