On Texas A&M’s racist system, and really, on the racist structure as a whole.
I was just going to link to this, but I also want to add that when blac(k)academic writes:
“making fun“ of black people is nothing new. i can’t turn on my television, access the internet, or even attend a mainstream hollywood movie without feeling insulted and demeaned. so, hearing about incidents like this that repeatedly happen on “prestigious“ institutes of higher learning, doesn’t shock me.
I feel a similar outrage, because I know what it is like to see people you identify with ridiculed on a regular basis. Whether it’s the rural population (though I don’t identify with that group so much because of my alienation form it) or queer folk — I even heard about it from a classmate about what an professor said in class last week.
