Sarah Harder

For our project I have decide to research Sarah Harder. Sarah Harder was a staff member at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire from 1868-2000. My research question is What did Sarah Harder accomplish in her years as faculty at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire? The reason I am interested in this topic is because it’s not a topic that many students know about and there is so much information about her. Sarah Harder had such a huge effect in establishing the women’s studies program at our school. I’d like to know what else she did and how she came about to doing it. This seems important to me because its a part of our schools history and she had a huge impact on Women’s rights and many different aspects of the UW school system. I believe that Sarah Harder accomplished a lot over the years that she was faculty at UWEC. I do not know all that she had accomplished or what her intentions were. But I’d like to know some history of establishing the Woman’s Studies program at our very own school and the difference she made for women.

  1. This is very intriguing because I had no idea who Sarah Harder was until now. The main question I have is when it says that Sarah Harder worked for UW-EC from 1868-2000. Do you mean 1968? In addition, the questions that I asked myself about Sarah Harder included: Was she a professor? What did she teach? Did she only help the campus or the whole city of Eau Claire too? What did she do? These quesions are hopefully helpful and I’m interested in seeing future posts.

    1. Yes I meant to say 1968-2000, thanks for catching that! I will fix it in a bit! I like the questions to gave me to look into, they are all something that im interested in also! I know that she was a professor for a while here, she did so much however that i’ll have to lay it out from year to year what she did. Let more researching begin! Thanks!

  2. I think that this sounds like an awesome topic! I think it would be helpful to include more information about what the women’s studies program is at UWEC so that the audience is more informed about the topic. It might be beneficial to include information about how she got started with the women’s studies and how she publicized women’s studies throughout the school.

  3. I agree with you! It seems like a broad topic right now and with imput like this I can begin to narrow down on more specific researching aspects! Thanks for your input and reasearching ideas! They will be very helpful!
