Throughout the process of researching about Bill Zorn I learned about what he did for this campus and how he effected the community. Starting this project I knew that Bill Zorn was a basketball at Eau Claire but other than that I didn’t know much more. My question was what did Bill Zorn do at Eau Claire and what did he accomplish. I wanted to know how successful of a coach he was and as I researched he was also the athletic director and the dean of men. Then I wondered how did he affect the university and what impact that had on the community.
As I did my research I found he was very involved with Eau Claire and that he was held high in the Eau Claire community. One thing that I want to learn more about is the specifics of his accomplishments that he did because so far in my research I haven’t found a lot specifics but I wish to learn more of this highly respected person in the community of Eau Claire.
In the future I wish to research more of the Bill Zorn papers at the libraries archives because it is a large collection and I have not had enough time to go through all of it thoroughly. So far my questions are being answered but they could be answered more deeply and have more detail.
While looking at his accomplishments I think that it might be interesting to look into his record while coaching basketball here at UW Eau Claire. I think maybe looking into his life before he came to EC to coach and learn about his childhood briefly and what not. So when you are writing the research paper you could maybe write about before he was at EC, while he was at EC, then what he did after coaching like within the community and working as the athletic director, and then maybe about his life after he left EC I don’t know if you will be able to find very much information on that. I think it would be cool to go through the life of Bill Zorn.
After reviewing the blogs you have posted, I believe that you have done the required research to learn who Bill Zorn really was. In your first post you said that people around Eau Claire should know what Bill Zorn has done for this campus, and city as a whole. Do you believe that you have accomplished this in your research? If someone who was not familiar with Bill Zorn were to read your blogs, would they be able to realize how important he was to the city and the campus? As you said, their are many archives that you have not studied in the archives. I think Bill Zorn and his legacy go into more depth than the headlines reveal.
