My research question is “Why did Jeffrey Dahmer commit the murders?” I am interested in the crimes that Jeffrey Dahmer committed because I am majoring in Criminal Justice and crimes interest me. This question is important because many other people around the country are asking the same question, and this research project will interest a lot of people. I do not have a clear understanding of Jeffrey Dahmer as of right now because I haven’t had the chance to look at documents in the archives.

Great research question but you should go a little more in depth about the murders because he did more than murder men or say something on what he was doing at the time. Your audience might not know who he is and some background information would give them a clearer explanation.
You could also talk about why it interests you instead of just saying it does. Say what you are interested in.
