My research question is what did the Chippewa Valley contribution to World War II? What did they produce? What factories switched from peacetime to wartime production? I have always enjoyed History, especially wars. I love to learn about wars, so I gravitated to World War II because I have a solid base knowledge.
This topic is worth exploring because the men who fought in the war are rapidly dying. The opportunity for firsthand accounts are as well. It seems like this is the perfect time to research this topic. It is also important because if we don’t learn our mistakes in history it is bound to happen again. The knowledge I learn here I can pass on to whomever wants to learn more about World War II in our area.
I am not from this area, so I want to learn more about what the Chippewa Valley did specifically to help the war effort. I also want to learn more about the soldiers who were drafted or volunteered. Where did they serve? Did they do something extra courageous? Did any of them receive special medals or awards? I am really excited to dive into that section of the topic.
This is a good research project to pursue with having a background knowledge specifically geared towards World War II it will help better understand the material that you are researching . I think that along with what did they produce what other economic influences did World War II have on the area possibly the effect on the college atmosphere surrounding students and was there or was there not a decline in those attending the college at that time.
You seem really interested in this topic and that you have a lot of questions. I think should really focus on two or three of them in depth instead of just covering a lot of questions. If you go more in depth into a couple of questions you will find some really good information and you paper will seemed more focused.
Hi. Nice way to start your research. I would like to suggest some ideas. It would be nice if you can explain more on why they divert towards war to solve an issue. Researching on how did Chippewa Valley’s contribution helped out World War II will also be interesting. This way it will provide much better understanding for your readers. These are some of my suggestions. Nice work by the way.
Do you know of any World War II veterans in the area that you could talk to and get their story about what happened in the war? If not, do you know of any possible ways you could find out where to contact veterans of this area? I think having someone who had first hand encounters in the war could be very good potential primary sources. You talk about the factories switching from “peacetime to wartime production,” are there any specific factories or corporations that you are interested in? Did the Chippewa Valley have a significant role in the war efforts? Was there anything specific that they manufactured or distributed to help the war efforts?
