What’s in store for tomorrow?

Cross-posted at my Day of DH blog.

I just signed up to blog for the Day of DH 2013. I thought I’d write a quick post in between grading and other work tonight to preview what I’ll be up to on Monday. I’ll wake up, walk to my favorite morning coffee shop, and do some rather traditional analog grading of reading responses and prep for my two classes on Monday. From there, I’ll head to campus. I teach first-year writing, and students are in the process of using Storify to write an “exploratory”/”literature review” type essay overviewing their research for their final projects. After FYC, I’ll head to a lunch meeting with other rhetoric scholars at UWEC (we’re trying to meet once a month or so, since we’re spread out in English, Journalism & Communication, and Business Communication). And then I’ll be teaching English 372: Social Media and Society. Students are tweeting and we’re currently reading Ilana Gershon’s The Breakup 2.0. When I can throughout the day, I’ll be prepping for my summer FYC course on Desire2Learn (yuck!) and working on my presentation for later this week at the 21st-Century Publishing: Industry, Media, and the Future of Print conference in Duluth.
